Abstract
The invention relates to a device for either generating or maintaining an organic data network having an dynamic topology, comprising
- a data processing unit,
- at least one data connection to a data network to which several devices provided with a data processing unit are connected by means of a data connection, and
- software having
- a receiving routine for receiving data packages of at least one transmitting device in the data network,
- a transmission routine for transmitting data packages, received from the transmitting device or devices in the data network to at least one receiving
transmitting device to at least one receiving device, independent of said transmitting device.
A device according to the invention can be used in for instance mobile phones, streaming internet applications and cable television.

20. A method for receiving data packages of a streaming item of content at a receiving media player, using at least two communication channels, the method comprising:

receiving one or more data packages corresponding to at least a part of the item of content over a first communication channel operationally coupled to the receiving media player; initiating a request for at least a part of the item of content over a second communication channel operationally coupled to the receiving media player; receiving, in response to initiating the request, one or more data packages corresponding to at least a part of the item of content, over the second communication channel; and making incoming content received over the first communication channel ready for processing and play-back at the receiving media player, such that part of the item of content is streamed to a stream target at the receiving media player, while another part of the item of content is being received by the receiving media player over the second communication channel. - View Dependent Claims (21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30)
